Opportunities for Tuition Assistance

• Archdiocese of Detroit Tuition Assistance Program:
  The Archdiocese of Detroit extends tuition assistance grants to Catholic Families who reside in the Archdiocese of Detroit. Details of the program, including how to apply, can be found through the links below. It is important that you read the School Information Letter and Parent Information Letter prior to starting your application process.
  
  
• St. Valentine School Limited Tuition Assistance:
  St. Valentine School has a limited amount of tuition assistance money to offer for families with financial need. Applications can be completed through FACTS with a $30 application fee. Financial aid awards will be given to the applicants with the greatest financial need. There is no guarantee that a family will receive assistance. The application and aid is for one year only and the amount awarded can be up to $800.

Opportunities for families to reduce tuition costs - SCRIP

SCRIP: This involves many retailers/merchants who work with the school in some way to offer discounts or rewards that can be credited to each family. We utilize the Great Lakes Scrip center (www.shopwithscrip.com) for ordering gift certificates of your choice as well as local grocery stores.

• SCRIP is ordered through the school office during the school year and part of the summer. To register for SCRIP with St. Valentine School please contact Mrs. Brake at (313) 533-7149 or kbrake@stvalentineschool.com.. Once you register you will be able to place your order online weekly. For a complete list of merchants available please visit www.shopwithscrip.com.
• The deadline to submit an order is 11:00 a.m. on Mondays.
• The school office submits the entire order to the Great Lakes Scrip center before 12:00 p.m. in order to be received by Wednesday/Thursday and returned to you.

St. Valentine keeps track of credit earned throughout the year and reconciles each family account upon registration for the next school year. Each participating family will have the following options for the disbursement of their SCRIP program balance:

• Application of all or part of the balance to registration/tuition.
• A donation of all or part of the balance to St. Valentine School /Church
• A check for all or part of the balance issued to the family.

Rewards Programs that Benefit Our School

The school receives funds to enhance our school budget when you:

1. Register and choose St. Valentine as your organization to receive credit at:
   • Kroger offers a Community Rewards Program which allows families to use their Kroger Plus Card to support St. Valentine School. Simply register your Kroger Plus Card online @krogercommunityrewards.com. Please use the St. Valentine organization number 82645. Every time you shop with your Kroger Plus Card a percentage will be donated to the school quarterly. Family members can also enroll their card to support St. Valentine School. Families must re-enroll each year in April/May.

2. Bring Recycling to school:
   • Abitibi Paper Recycling (no registration required - Abitibi bins located in parking lot)
   • Funding Factory Ink Cartridge Recycling (no registration required)
     Refer to the fundingfactory.com website for acceptable cartridges

3. Box Tops For Education
   • No more clipping, download the Box Top app and scan your receipt.
