Dear Middle School Families,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! This year, I will be the Middle School Social Studies/History Teacher for grades 5-8. I am excited for this Fantastic Adventure to begin. I have been teaching for 35 years and each year there are special memories to be had and I know there will be many this year. I am the 8th grade homeroom teacher, as well as the 8th grade Religion and Study Hall/Character Education teacher. Eight grade, you will be making your Confirmation, what a joyous year! Study Hall/Character Education, you will be learning virtues in class hopefully students, you will incorporate them into your everyday lives. 5-8th grade, in Social Studies/History you will be doing various mini-projects, as well as major projects, how cool! Students, you will not only do book work, you will take notes, and use your computers for research. Please make sure you have a notebook for Social Studies/ 8th grade Religion and Character Education. I give out homework on Monday and it is not due until Friday. Parents, I will communicate with you by email and if you need to get in touch with me, please do the same abrown@stvalentineschool.com. Please give me time to respond to the email. Parents, I thank you for choosing St. Valentine for your child's education and I am looking forward to this Fantastic Adventure.
My faith incorporates every aspect of my life, my spirit and my relationships with others. When I think of my faith Corinthians 13: 4-8 always is with me: Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy or boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails. What a beautiful way to express my Love for God, family and students. Teaching students for over 36 years to love, use morals and have values and treat others with respect and love God with all your heart and soul is truly a reflection of my faith.
